Kolakham is a beautiful
hamlet nestled in the Neora Valley. Abundant in rich flora and fauna,
it also offers a spectacular view of the snow clad Himalayas. The journey from
Lava is a pretty bumpy one that might leave you with a bit of back pain but it
is worth it.
It is a paradise for bird
watchers. You can opt to take nature walks inside the Neora Valley or
to the Changey Falls.
Please remember accommodations in
these places are very limited. There are a few decent homestays with
basic amenities. What stands out is the warmth and the hospitality of the
locals and the solitude of the place far far away from the noisy and
crowded ones.
